SwiftRide uses account, location, trip and technical information to operate rides, connect riders and drivers, support users, protect the platform and keep the service reliable. We aim to collect and use information for clear, legitimate purposes and only to the extent reasonably necessary for those purposes.
Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the SwiftRide Rider app, SwiftRide Driver app, the SwiftRide website and related support or operational services that refer to this policy.
It explains how SwiftRide handles personal information when you create or use an account, plan or complete a trip, drive using the platform, contact SwiftRide, or otherwise interact with our services.
Third-party services may have their own privacy practices. Where SwiftRide relies on another provider to deliver part of the service, that provider may also process information according to its own applicable terms and privacy notice.
Information you provide
The information you provide depends on how you use SwiftRide.
- Account information: details used to create, identify and manage your SwiftRide account, such as your name, contact information and profile details.
- Driver information: vehicle details, driver profile information, and documents or verification information required for driver onboarding or continued use of the Driver service.
- Trip information: pickup and destination details, trip requests, fare-related information and other details you provide while planning or managing a ride.
- Support information: messages, reports, documents or other information you provide when contacting SwiftRide about an account, trip, safety concern or technical problem.
Please provide information that is accurate and keep account information reasonably up to date where the service gives you the ability to do so.
Location and trip information
Location is a core part of a ride-hailing service. SwiftRide may process precise or approximate location information when required to provide a feature and when device permissions or other applicable conditions allow it.
For riders
Location information may be used to identify or confirm a pickup point, help you choose a destination, show route context, identify relevant nearby drivers and support an active trip.
For drivers
Driver location may be processed while a driver is available for ride activity, responding to a request, travelling to a pickup, or completing an active trip. This helps SwiftRide support nearby driver discovery, pickup navigation, trip progress and operational trip state.
Trip records
SwiftRide may create records that connect pickup and destination information with route context, trip status, timestamps, rider and driver relationships, distance or duration information, and fare or estimate information associated with the journey.
The purpose of this information is to keep the ride connected from request through pickup, active journey and completion, while giving the rider, driver and authorized operations the context needed for the service to work.
Technical and usage information
When SwiftRide is used, our systems may generate technical records needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service.
Depending on the feature and device being used, these records may include information such as app version, device or operating-system details, network information, timestamps, authentication or security events, service requests, error information and diagnostic logs.
The exact technical information generated can vary depending on the SwiftRide service, feature and infrastructure involved.
How SwiftRide uses information
SwiftRide may use information described in this policy to:
- create, authenticate and manage Rider and Driver accounts;
- identify pickup and destination context, discover relevant drivers, support routing and operate the trip lifecycle;
- calculate, display or record trip estimates, distance, duration, fare and related journey information;
- provide trip updates, service messages and transactional notifications;
- support riders and drivers and investigate trip, account or technical issues;
- review safety concerns, disputes, suspected abuse, fraud or misuse of the platform;
- monitor, maintain, secure and improve the reliability of SwiftRide services; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations or respond to lawful requests where required.
When information is shared
SwiftRide does not work in isolation. Certain information needs to move between the people and systems involved in providing a ride.
Between riders and drivers
Information necessary for a trip may be shared between the matched Rider and Driver. For example, a Driver may receive pickup, destination and trip-request context, while a Rider may receive relevant Driver, vehicle, arrival and trip-status information.
Within SwiftRide operations
Authorized SwiftRide personnel may access information where reasonably necessary to provide support, investigate issues, handle safety or abuse concerns, maintain service reliability or perform legitimate operational work.
Service providers
SwiftRide may rely on service providers for functions such as application infrastructure, databases, hosting, mapping or routing, messaging, authentication, monitoring and support. Providers receive information only as necessary for the services they perform, subject to applicable arrangements and law.
Legal and safety reasons
Information may be disclosed where SwiftRide is required to do so by applicable law, valid legal process, or where disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect users, the public, the platform, or the rights and safety of others.
Data retention
SwiftRide aims to retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required or permitted for legitimate legal, safety, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, dispute or operational reasons.
Different types of information may need to be kept for different periods. For example, temporary technical information may not need to be kept as long as records connected to a completed trip, unresolved dispute, Driver verification matter, financial record or legal obligation.
When information is no longer reasonably needed, SwiftRide may delete, anonymize or otherwise remove it from active use as appropriate.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the information involved and the rights available under applicable law, you may be able to ask SwiftRide to:
- confirm whether personal information about you is being processed;
- provide access to relevant personal information;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- object to or request limits on certain processing where applicable; or
- delete personal information or close your SwiftRide account, subject to information that SwiftRide may lawfully or reasonably need to retain.
Location permissions
Device settings may allow you to control location permissions. Restricting location access can prevent features that depend on location from functioning correctly.
Account deletion
SwiftRide will provide account-deletion controls for Rider and Driver accounts. Users may also be able to request account deletion through official SwiftRide support channels.
Account deletion does not necessarily require immediate deletion of every record. SwiftRide may retain limited information where necessary for legal obligations, safety, fraud prevention, disputes, financial records or other legitimate purposes permitted by law.
Security
SwiftRide uses technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss or misuse.
These measures may include access controls, authentication, secure infrastructure, monitoring, operational safeguards and controls around who can access information.
No application, network or storage system can guarantee absolute security. SwiftRide will continue to review and improve safeguards as the platform and its risks evolve.
Children and eligibility
SwiftRide services are intended for users who meet the eligibility requirements applicable to the service they use. Driver accounts are also subject to Driver-specific onboarding, verification and vehicle requirements.
If SwiftRide learns that personal information has been provided by or about a child in circumstances that are not permitted by applicable law, we may take reasonable steps to restrict or delete that information.
Changes to this policy
SwiftRide may update this Privacy Policy as the platform, its features, operational needs or legal requirements change.
When the policy changes, the updated version will be published with a revised “Last updated” date. Where a change materially affects how personal information is handled, SwiftRide may provide additional notice where appropriate.
Contact SwiftRide
For privacy questions, requests relating to personal information, or questions about account deletion, contact SwiftRide through the official support channel provided by the platform.
SwiftRide may need to verify that a request relates to your account before providing, changing or deleting personal information. This helps protect account information from unauthorized requests.
The dedicated SwiftRide Support and Account Deletion pages will provide the current request process once those routes are added to this website.
